Leadership is about more than heading meetings and making decisions - it's about inspiring change, creating connections, and building communities. Yet we know that without productive, meaningful meetings and effective decision making, it is hard to accomplish other life-changing, transformational tasks. The URJ Leadership Boot Camp, a virtual five-hour program, is returning on January 26, 2025, to give you the opportunity to develop these essential skills alongside fellow leaders from across the Reform Movement.

We are thrilled to announce that this year's keynote speaker is Allison Fine. Fine brings her unique perspective on leveraging technology for social good. As the president of Every.org and co-author of "The Smart Nonprofit: Staying Human-Centered in an Automated World," Fine has reshaped how organizations navigate the balance between innovation and humanity. Her insights will help participants rethink compassionate and purposeful leadership in an ever-evolving, increasingly automated world. Fine also knows our Reform Jewish audience, having served as president of her URJ-affiliated congregation.

In addition to this outstanding keynote address, participants will have access to a diverse range of workshops tailored to the most pressing congregational leadership topics. From governance and education to financial planning and social justice, each session is crafted to equip you with practical tools, valuable resources, and actionable items to create immediate impact.

This year, the URJ is also offering a special incentive: any congregation that sends a minimum of 10 people or 80% of their board leadership to Leadership Boot Camp will be offered a post-event debrief with a trained facilitator to help encourage conversations about what each member learned and wants to bring back to their community.

Last year, nearly 200 attendees learned, collaborated, and discovered their potential for impact together. For many, the program was not just a source of knowledge-it was a spark for action:

"Thank you for opening this up to all board members & not just board presidents. This is my first year on the board & I found it incredibly helpful. I am going to suggest that we include this as an expectation/responsibility for all board members for next year. I have many takeaways that I will share at our next board meeting." (M.B.)

"I learned there are a lot of Jewish leaders willing to share their wisdom, experiences, and expertise. I feel connected and supported!" (J.K.)

One of the unique aspects of the Leadership Boot Camp is that congregations can send teams. Leadership isn't a solo act; having multiple voices at the table ensures a shared vision and broader impact. Whether you're a seasoned board president or stepping into leadership for the first time, there's something for everyone at this year's event.

The 2025 Leadership Boot Camp isn't just a day of workshops-it's an investment in your community's future. Mark your calendar, invite your team, and join us in writing the next chapter of Reform Jewish leadership!
