Event Details

Registration is now closed for the 2019 URJ Had'rachah Seminar for Lay Leadership in Ritual Life.

The URJ Had'rachah Seminar for Lay Leadership in Ritual Life is open only to congregational leaders from small congregations with no more than one full-time clergy member. The URJ Had’rachah Seminar teaches participants a variety of skills to help them lead communal worship, lifecycle events, and educational opportunities in support of or in place of clergy. Our faculty is composed of rabbis, cantors, and Jewish educators. Participants will learn from them, from URJ staff and from each other.

Key Dates

Engagement of participants doesn't begin or end at the seminar. Prior to the seminar, there will be two required live online learning sessions that will build the foundation for the in-person learning at the seminar:

  • April 11, 8pm ET - Learning session #1: Leading Between the Lines: Our Role Leading Worship
  • May 14, 8pm ET - Learning session #2: Beyond the Officiant: Our Role in Lifecycle Moments
  • June 19-23 - The 2019 URJ Had'rachah Seminar, URJ Kutz Camp, Warwick, NY

Upon registering for the program, you will receive the links for the live online learning sessions.

The cost of attending the URJ Had'rachah Seminar (includes registration, accommodations, food, and materials): $155

The pricing for attending the URJ Had'rachah Seminar has been generously subsidized by the URJ Small Congregations Grants. The grant has already been applied to the cost listed above, so there is no need to apply.
