Lifetime Achievement Award Presentation to Sir Ben Helfgott

Temple Israel, Lawrence and Jewish Sports Heritage Association cordially invite you to attend the virtual award presentation of the 2020 Lifetime Achievement Award to Sir Ben Helfgott on Sunday, December 6, 2020, at 10:30 a.m.

Sir Ben Helfgott is a truly remarkable individual - a Polish Holocaust survivor, British Olympian, successful businessman, founder of the 45 Aid Society, founding trustee of the Holocaust Educational Trust and a leader and a hero to many. In 2018, he was appointed a Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire in recognition of his contribution to services to Holocaust remembrance and education.

Sir Ben surviced two labor camps and three concentration camps, and became an Olympic weightlifter (1956 and 1960), the only known concentration camp survivor to have participated in the Olympics.
