Digital Marketing Manager

Overview and Purpose 

The URJ Marketing & Communications department seeks someone passionate about engaging various audiences through email marketing, digital advocacy tools, and advancing the URJ’s online fundraising and audience growth goals.

The URJ Marketing and Communications department is charged with building awareness, increasing visibility, and engaging key audiences on URJ’s messages, impact, and leadership through effective, strategic, and innovative marketing and communications tactics. We are a creative, energetic team who are passionate about the URJ and Reform Judaism. 

What You’ll Do   

You will lead a team of staff who will plan, produce, and execute email marketing for a wide variety of programs and events across the organization. This team will also take the lead on creating, maintaining and coordinating online advocacy forms around issues of importance to the Reform Movement. This team will also be responsible for the promotion and execution of online fundraising campaigns to include email, website lightboxes, and the ongoing engagement of online donors.   

Essential Functions  

As part of the Audience Engagement team, the Digital Engagement Strategist will: 

  • Be experienced with email marketing, online advocacy and online fundraising strategies including how they relate to our organization’s websites, social media, and paid ads. 
  • Work closely with colleagues in the Marketing and Communications department to execute marketing plans and measure the success of email marketing, online advocacy, and fundraising. 
  • Collaborate and contribute to URJ’s communications calendar to ensure alignment and consistency in messages across audiences   
  • Working within URJ’s communications policies and guidelines including the use of social media, branding guidelines, templates, etc.  
  • Monitor the impact of marketing and communications efforts and adjust activities as needed 

You Have:

  • Minimum of 5 years in marketing for a non-profit or mission-driven organization  
  • Experience managing a small team 
  • Creative, positive attitude 
  • Knowledge and proven experience in fundraising marketing strategy and plans  
  • Knowledge of various nonprofit marketing tools such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, CQ Roll Call, and Classy fundraising as well as best practices and industry benchmarks 
  • Experience and ability to merge organizational priorities and vision into marketing strategies and reach 
  • Deep understanding of and commitment to URJ’s mission and values
