Reform Movement Condemns Terrorist Attack in Tel Aviv

Rabbi Rick Jacobs: "Those responsible for such acts of violence must be held responsible and we call upon international leaders and all people of goodwill to condemn both this attack and Hamas for encouraging terrorism."

January 21, 2015, New York, NY -- In response to the brutal stabbing on a Tel Aviv bus this morning, URJ President Rabbi Rick Jacobs made the following statement:

"We feel deep and all too-familiar sorrow at hearing of this morning's terrorist attack that resulted in the stabbing of at least a dozen innocent people on a Tel Aviv bus, several of them seriously wounded. Our hopes and prayers for the wounded and their families co-mingle with anger at the would-be assassins and those who support them. Hamas' praise for the attack is as abhorrent as it is predictable. Those responsible for such acts of violence must be held responsible and we call upon international leaders and all people of goodwill to condemn both this attack and Hamas for encouraging terrorism."
