45th Council November 1959 Miami Beach, FL As President Eisenhower has eloquently reaffirmed, the United States of America is deeply committed to the goals of enforceable disarmament and the reduction of the crushing burden of armaments which weighs so heavily upon us and other nations of the world.

Salt II

Year Adopted:
In conformity with past resolutions calling for disarmament and responsible arms control and in keeping with the commandment to "seek peace and pursue it," the General Assembly of the UAHC supports the ratification of the SALT II Treaty.

Preventing Nuclear Holocaust

Year Adopted:
This Union, from its inception, has taken seriously the Jewish obligation to "seek peace and pursue it." We have consistently sought to apply the prophetic vision to the urgent contemporary issues of war and peace.

Germ Warfare

Year Adopted:
As religiously motivated men, women and youth, we enjoin President Nixon to take a moral stand here and now, that the United States unilaterally renounce experimentation with and use of germ warfare and nerve gases.
