Appointing Committee to Present to State Legislatures Petition for Enactment of Sabbath Observance Laws

RESOLVED that this Council appoint a committee, whose duty it shall be to draw up, circulate, obtain signatures to and have presented in proper form to the legislatures of the various States, a petition asking the enactment of laws, where such exist not enabling the Israelite to keep and observe the Sabbath, according to the dictates of his conscience, and exempting him who keeps the Sabbath, from such Sunday laws and regulations, which may interfere with his legitimate business.
