Financial Needs of the Union

WHEREAS, some of the necessary activities of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations have had to be curtailed, and some have had to be discontinued; and,

WHEREAS, the times call for not only the continuance of the program of the Union, but rather for its enlargement;

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the delegates to this Convention inform their congregations of our serious problems in the affairs of the Union, and urge the officers and members of their congregations to greater efforts in their discharge of the obligation to support the Union more generously and more in keeping with the part which the Union plays in the life of Reform Judaism so that its power to sustain Reform Judaism can go on not only undiminished, but also with greater force and efficiency.

The Council recommends further that a copy of this resolution be sent to the officers and directors or trustees of the constituent Congregations.
