The Secretary presented a communication from Rev. Dr. Hyamson, President of the League for Safeguarding the Fixity of the Sabbath, requesting the Executive Board of the Union to adopt a resolution indicating the attitude of the Union on this subject and to forward same to the President of the United States and to the General Secretary pf the League of Nations at Geneva, Switzerland. Mr. A. Leo Weil and Dr. Joseph Stolz moved the adoption of the following resolution:
"Resolved that the Union of American Hebrew Congregations, oppose any change in the calendar which may in any manner endanger the fixity of the Sabbath."
The above resolution was unanimously adopted.
It was Resolved upon motion of Mr. A. Leo Weil and Dr. Joseph Stolz that copies of this resolution be forwarded to the President of the United States, to the General Secretary of the League of Nations and to the President of the League for Safeguarding the Fixity of the Sabbath.
