The Union for Reform Judaism and the 69th General Assembly express their sincere appreciation and profound gratitude to Robert Heller for his selfless service on behalf of Reform Judaism and his remarkable leadership as Chair of the Union Board for the past four years.
Foreseeing the need for proactive change, he formed the Task Force on Delivery of Services in the 21st Century, whose recommendations have already begun to enhance the Union's ability to assist congregations by strengthening their to meet their members' spiritual, educational and communal needs.
He championed with passion and dedication the Union's commitment to tikkun olam and social justice in our world.
He provided endless support for Camp Kalsman, the Union's newest camp in the Pacific Northwest, and helped ensure a living Judaism environment for the next generation of Jewish leadership.
He led the Union with stellar vision, compassion, wisdom and abundant humor.
For all this, we applaud Bob's superb leadership, and we offer to him our sincerest gratitude, respect and esteem.
May he and Amy, his beloved friend, wife and partner, be blessed with years of love, heath and family, and may they continue to be a precious blessing to our Reform Movement and the Jewish people as they go from strength to strength.
