Jewish communities need strong and prepared leaders. Everyone brings varied talents with them and each person has different strengths. But what about the foundational skills of running and leading a congregation? The URJ's Leadership Bootcamp is an online program featuring a keynote presentation and a wide selection of diverse breakout sessions focused on building these foundational leadership skills.
Last year, we opened the program to adults and teens wanting to build their leadership skills. Here are some key takeaways from the 2024 URJ Leadership Bootcamp:
"I appreciate that the recordings and materials from all the breakout sessions will be made available in The Tent. There were so many worthwhile presentations... [so] I am excited to review the information I missed and share [everything I learned] with board members." - M.S.
"This was my first year on the board and I found [the Leadership Bootcamp] to be incredibly helpful. I am going to suggest that we include [attending the bootcamp] as an expectation of all board members next year." - M.B.
"It was enlightening to learn that other congregations share exactly the same concerns and membership issues that we do!" - Anonymous
The 2025 URJ Leadership Bootcamp will take place online on Sunday, January 26 from Noon - 5 :00 P.M. ET.
Join other congregational leaders from across North America to learn from Union for Reform Judaism staff, leaders from our Reform Movement partner affiliates, and experts in various areas of essential skills.
During this five-hour seminar, participants will:
- Gain essential foundational skills to help them become better prepared for their current and future leadership roles.
- Learn and network with other congregational leadership within the Reform Movement.
- Self-select three different learning sessions that are meaningful and important to their goals as a much needed volunteer in their community
- Understand the resources and expertise that the Union for Reform Judaism and their partners in the Reform Movement can provide, both at this program and as they move their community forward.
