The twenty-five congregations that comprise the Southern New England URJ Community are as diverse as the geography that surrounds us. Our almost 7,300 families live and work near the beach, woodlands, lakes or mountains of Connecticut and Southern Massachusetts. We are blessed with four glorious seasons through which we can experience nature at every stage and watch the changing views. Our congregations are located in cities, suburban towns, and rural villages.
The Southern New England URJ Community has been up and running since early 2014. We have held two Presidents meetings per year. The Presidents, along with other invited senior lay leaders, have used this time to connect with each other, to learn from each other, and to hear from experts on various topics. Our Presidents are actively exchanged and value the opportunity to get together; they have begun to look to each other for guidance, for ideas, and for camaraderie.
