Women of Reform Judaism (WRJ) is the women’s affiliate of the Union for Reform Judaism, the central body of Reform Judaism in North America. Established in 1913, WRJ now represents about 35,000 women in over 350 women’s groups in North America and around the world. Its mission is to strengthen the voice of women worldwide and empower them to create caring communities, nurture congregations, cultivate personal and spiritual growth, and advocate for and promote progressive Jewish values. WRJ educates and trains sisterhood and congregational leaders in the areas of membership, fundraising, leadership skills, advocacy for social justice, and innovative and spiritual programming. Through its YES Fund (Youth, Education, and Special Projects), WRJ provides financial support to the various institutions of Reform Judaism. The Fried Women’s Conference (FWC) is WRJ’s largest gathering with several hundred attendees: both rising and experienced leaders. The conference is where Reform Jewish women – both sisterhood and individual members – come together from around the world for three days to learn and hone leadership skills, participate in personal enrichment programs, create connections and network with other WRJ women, experience meaningful worship, and learn from poignant speakers.
