The poor are often at a disadvantage in matters affecting their legal rights.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the 48th General Assembly of the UAHC calls upon all levels of government and private citizens to make every effort to provide adequate legal services and equal treatment to the poor in fulfillment of the Biblical ethic: "Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment. Thou shall not respect the person of the poor nor favor the person of the mighty, but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbor.' (Leviticus 19:15)
