What We Do

"Be like the disciples of Aaron, loving peace and pursuing peace, loving people and bringing them closer to Torah." - Pirkei Avot 1:12

The Union for Reform Judaism strives to create a more whole, just, and compassionate world. We motivate and mobilize people from diverse backgrounds to participate and deepen their engagement in Jewish life in ways that ultimately transform themselves, their communities, and the world at large.

Congregational Life

We help congregations and communities stay adept and agile, enabling them to meet members' needs proactively, and expand the ways people can live Jewishly.

Engaging Youth & Families with Young Children

The URJ coordinates a network of youth programs across North America that promote community, spiritual growth, and lifelong friendship, motivating more young Jews to embrace Jewish living as a path to meaning, purpose, and joy.

Social Justice

Through advocacy campaigns, hands-on volunteering opportunities, and leadership training, the URJ galvanizes people throughout North America to ensure religious freedom, pluralism, acceptance, and justice.

Israel Engagement

The URJ provides educational materials about Israel and Zionism for Reform congregations, assists in bringing Reform Jews to Israel, and provides pre- and post-trip programming for congregations and individuals to enhance their Israel experience.

Audacious Hospitality

Audacious Hospitality is the Reform Movement's focused effort on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) work. We believe that there is more than one authentic way to be Jewish and acknowledge that our diversity is an essential component to making our communities whole.
