Building Bridges, Not Walls: A Passover Message
As we gather around the Seder table this year, let's defy the divisions of our polarized world and model a different way of being together. Like the Talmudic sage Hillel, what if we began our arguments with the plausibility of the opposing view, creating space for serious and respectful debate?
This Passover, instead of focusing on Pharoah's evil, let's focus on the defiant daughter who pulled Moses from the Nile, whose actions of humanity and compassion can inspire us to build bridges, not walls and recommit to standing against injustice wherever we see it.
As we celebrate freedom and liberation, we hold in our hearts those who are still captive - we wish for the swift return of the remaining hostages in Gaza, that they may soon experience the joy of freedom and reunite with their loved ones.
As you gather around your Seder table this year, use our Passover place cards to remind your guests about the importance of voting in the World Zionist Congress elections. This commitment takes on special meaning this year, as our Seder coincides with a pivotal moment for American Jews. Canadian Jews will also have a chance to make their voices heard in the Canadian Zionist Federation's WZO election in June.
May your Passover be filled with joy, liberation, and hope. Next year, may we celebrate in a world without hate, fear, or division.
