Reform Leaders Respond to President Biden’s Statement on Ceasefire Plan

May 31, 2024 - As we prepare to welcome Shabbat, we pray that today’s announcement by President Biden will hasten a peaceful and secure future for Israel and the Palestinians. We welcome this step toward a meaningful ceasefire that would return the hostages, ensure Israel’s security, and end the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. We call on the international community to insist that Hamas negotiate in good faith, and we call upon Prime Minister Netanyahu to resist the pressure of the extremists in his government and move a deal forward. Together, we can bring the world closer to the future we all envision.
