In conformity with past resolutions calling for disarmament and responsible arms control and in keeping with the commandment to "seek peace and pursue it," the General Assembly of the UAHC supports the ratification of the SALT II Treaty.
The ongoing SALT process offers the most realistic possibility presently available for checking a wasteful and potentially catastrophic nuclear arms race. We recognize that this process is not at an end, and it is our sincere hope that future SALT agreements will significantly reduce armament levels, thus making more resources available for human and social benefits.
